Why Castelion, Why Now

Castelion is moving incredibly fast to develop and deliver advanced defense systems at a time when execution matters more than ever. We believe focus, ownership, and excellence are decisive advantages - and we're building a world-class team to turn bold ideas into real capability.

This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, where you'll have significant ownership, collaborate with exceptional teammates, and make a direct, measurable impact on our mission and the future of the company - regardless of your function.

Industrial Engineer, Avionics
Castelion is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to design and scale the manufacturing systems behind our avionics hardware, including PCBAs, wire harnesses, electrical integration, and test. You will own the systems-level view of production: modeling capacity, balancing operations, optimizing material flow, defining standard work, and building the metrics that tell us how the factory is performing. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing engineering and program execution, translating production data into decisions about equipment, staffing, tooling, and factory layout that enable us to scale from development builds to high-rate production.

Responsibilities
Model production capacity and takt time across PCBA, harness, electrical integration, and test operations to inform staffing, equipment, and layout decisions • Develop process flows, value stream maps, and factory layouts to optimize material flow and production efficiency • Conduct time studies and line balancing analyses to establish standard work and identify bottlenecks • Partner with design and manufacturing engineering to provide DFM/DFA feedback for production at scale • Develop and maintain OEE, throughput, cycle time, utilization, and yield metrics to drive manufacturing improvements • Perform capacity studies and define labor, equipment, tooling, and floor-space requirements • Develop material flow, kitting, and lineside inventory strategies to reduce non value-added work • Support make/buy and automation decisions using capacity, labor, and cost models • Work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams to meet production rate, schedule, and cost objective.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related engineering field • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment performing capacity, process flow, or production analysis

Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with electronics, avionics, PCBA, wire harness, electromechanical, or aerospace manufacturing • Experience with capacity modeling, line balancing, factory layouts, OEE, takt time, and production planning • Experience scaling manufacturing processes from development into higher-volume production

Castelion offers a generous benefits package. Please refer to the bottom of our Careers page for more details.
