Chemical Technician – Wet Chemistry

Castelion is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Technician to support wet chemistry processing, laboratory operations, and chemical reaction workflows. This role is ideal for an individual with hands-on laboratory experience who is comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and supporting chemical manufacturing or R&D activities in a fast-paced environment.

The role combines laboratory operations, chemical handling, equipment preparation, and process monitoring responsibilities. The technician will support the preparation and maintenance of laboratory glassware, assist with reaction setup and assembly, monitor active chemical processes, and ensure safe and compliant laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, and prepare laboratory glassware according to established procedures and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist with assembly, setup, and disassembly of glassware and reaction systems.
  • Support wet chemistry processing activities under the direction of engineers and chemists.
  • Collect and record process data, observations, and operating conditions during chemical processing runs.
  • Safely handle, transfer, store, and dispose of hazardous chemicals in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and process materials as directed.
  • Perform routine laboratory housekeeping and maintain an organized work environment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting process and equipment issues during chemical operations.
  • Support inventory management of chemicals, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements and participate in safety training activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, chemical processing, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with safe handling practices for corrosive, toxic, flammable, and reactive chemicals.
  • Experience using laboratory glassware and wet chemistry equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety data sheets (SDS), and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hands-on laboratory environment.
  • Ability to lift laboratory equipment and stand for extended periods as required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with chemical reaction systems, pilot-scale processing, or industrial chemical operations.
  • Familiarity with acid/base handling, solvent systems, and chemical waste management.
  • Experience working under OSHA, EPA, or other regulated laboratory environments.
  • Knowledge of process monitoring instrumentation and data collection methods.
